“What we don’t need in the midst of struggle is shame for being human.”

— Brené Brown

The ins and outs.

Specialties.

I am a trained generalist and expert in treating a variety of symptoms, diagnoses, and deeper intrapersonal challenges that can arise for us as human beings. My specialities include:

  • Anxiety Reduction - Panic Attacks, Phobias, OCD, Generalized Anxiety, Stress Management, Imposter Syndrome, Rumination, Perfectionism

  • Trauma Recovery

  • Grief/Loss & Life Transitions

  • Identity Integration

  • Mental & Emotional Wellness - Maintenance or Growth Focused work

How it works.

  1. Schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation to ask questions and schedule an initial appointment.

  2. Set-up your client portal where you can safely and privately complete the initial client paperwork.

  3. We’ll schedule an initial 80-minute intake session where we’ll take the time to get to know one another, explore what you’re experiencing and what you would like to change, and end by discussing a treatment plan including proposed treatment modalities, goals, and scheduling.

  4. The active treatment portion of care will depend on factors discussed at intake; however, typical treatment plans include 50-minute sessions 1x/week to every other week. Sessions are titrated with symptom reduction based on self-report assessments and collaborative observation.

  5. Throughout treatment, self-report assessment measurements are taken quarterly, or more frequently as needed, and treatment goals are assessed regularly to ensure positive change, aligned goals and identify and address any potential barriers to progress.

Client

Responsibilities.

  • Be honest. Share your true experiences — I can only help based on what I know.

  • Show up. Emotionally and physically be present during our time together.

  • Reflect and apply. The time in-between sessions is far greater than the time in session. Creating change is more than just going to an hour of therapy.

  • Be willing. Therapy is asking you to talk about things that you don’t like to talk about or feel, it can be uncomfortable, but through discomfort we grow and change. Let’s do this together.

I have extensive training in providing culturally sensitive care using Evidence-Based Psychotherapies (EBP). Sessions are uniquely designed and tailored to you using one of, or a combination of, the below EBPs proven effective for mental health care.

Make meaningful changes to the underlying thoughts, feelings and behaviors that get in the way of the life you want to live.

  • Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Take a closer look at control, differentiate between pain & suffering, and create a new relationship with your thoughts & feelings to refocus on a values-based, intentional life.

  • Exposure & Response Prevention Therapy (ERP)

Mindfully and intentionally confront situations, thoughts, memories, or physical sensations that get in the way of living fully.

  • Prolonged Exposure (PE)

Mindfully and intentionally confront situations, thoughts, memories, or physical sensations connected to traumatic stress to facilitate healing, an integrated self and a full life.

  • Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)

Identify and make meaningful changes to underlying thoughts, feelings and behaviors that act as barriers to healing traumatic stress and living a fulfilling life.

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

Gain control of your emotional experiences with skills focused on mindfulness, healthy relationships, and emotion tolerance & regulation. Note: skills coaching only, comprehensive DBT not available.

  • Interpersonal Therapy (IPT)

Take inventory on the relationship you have with yourself and others to better understand how to improve connection and change dynamic patterns that impact mood and emotional wellbeing.

As a licensed Clinical Psychologist in California, Telehealth services are available to those located anywhere in the state who have access to a quality internet connection. I am not offering in-person services at this time.

In order to provide the most personal and optimal care I do not take insurance.  As an out-of-network provider, I offer a monthly SuperBill that can be submitted to your insurance provider.  You can contact your insurance provider to confirm your particular benefits and details regarding the process of reimbursement.
